The
FCT Spelling Bee Competition for Junior Secondary Schools conducted by
Haruna Zainab on the 15th of May, 2013 in Collaboration with Junior
Achievemment Nigeria and The Faridah Wada Foundation featured
5Governement Secondary Schools in the Federal Capital Territory namely:
Junior Model Secondary School, Maitama
Junior Secondary School, Jikwoyi
Junior Secondary School, Karu
Junior Secondary School, Tudunwada
Community Staff School, Asokoro
The Judges for the competition included Dr Gidoen Omachonu, the Head, Languages and Linguistics Department of Nasarawa State University, Kryss Tha Boss, On-air Radi Personality at Cool Fm, Abuja and Mrs Franca Nnaji Thomas, National Coordinator for Junior Achievement Nigeria.
The competition was intense and highly educative with Community Staff School Asokoro emerging as the First Place Winners while Junior Secondary School, Karu came in Second with Junior Secondary School Jikwoyi in third place.
Generous gifts were given to the winners and all participants with all Judges, teachers and sponsors commending the efforts of the organiser, Zainab Haruna.
The Competition was sponsored by Julius Berger Plc , Dufil Prima Foods, Lakke Integrated Business Solutions and Decipher Solutions.
