Fundraising remains one of the most important aspects of ensuring a project or a cause is successful. People raise funds for a variety of reasons including:
- Charitable purpose
- Fashion show
- Local contest
- Religious purpose
- To build a house
- To fund a business idea.
Fundraising is something many people shy away from. It often brings to mind used car sales tactics. That is, hiking up the price on an item for more than it is worth. This feeling is made worse by the fact fundraisers often sell products people would not ordinarily even buy.
Convincing potential sponsors to invest in your cause without returns is very difficult and often results in the failure of most projects.
This May at DPlace, we will be looking at Innovative Fundraising tactics that have been used by major corporations around the world with recorded success. We will also feature several speakers who have raised funds for projects worth millions of naira who will share their stories and challenges.
